Hundreds of hostages, mostly children and women, rescued from Boko Haram extremists in Sambisa Forest enclave, some girls with babies from forced marriages, including Hajara Umara with children, during a dayslong military operation, some insurgents killed, their makeshift houses destroyed. Boko Haram insurgency since 2009 aims for Islamic Shariah law, causing displacement of 2.1 million people.
