Devastating wildfires ravage Jasper, Alberta: Mass evacuations and international firefighting efforts

Wildfires have devastated the Canadian town of Jasper, destroying up to half of the community and forcing the evacuation of 25,000 people. Triggered by a lightning storm and driven by strong winds, the fires levelled streets and left smouldering ruins. The blaze remains out of control despite global firefighting support and some rain.
