Bangladesh bans Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir under anti-terrorism law

Bangladesh banned Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir under anti-terrorism laws following deadly protests over government job quotas, which left at least 150 people dead. The government accused the party of instigating violence and exploiting the student-led movement. The ban was enacted through an executive order and was supported by the ruling Awami League-led alliance.
