A mob attacked visitors heading towards the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum, where Bangladesh’s first president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was murdered in 1975. Armed assailants blocked roads, preventing people, including media and Liberation War heroes, from paying respects. Sheikh Hasina’s son, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, condemned the violence, while former PM Khaleda Zia’s BNP party held protests demanding Hasina’s arrest.
