Roberta Kaplan, the prominent trial lawyer known for representing New York writer E. Jean Carroll in her lawsuits against Donald Trump, is leaving Kaplan Hecker & Fink, the firm she founded seven years ago. Kaplan announced on Wednesday that she is starting a new boutique firm, Kaplan Martin, with partner Tim Martin and a trio of close friends. The new firm will specialize in civil litigation, internal corporate investigations, and strategic advisory. Kaplan cited the unexpected growth of Kaplan Hecker & Fink and her desire to shift away from white-collar matters as reasons for the change.
