US president Joe Biden was set to meet Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Paris amidst Ukraine’s tough battle with Russia. The US is Kyiv’s main wartime supporter as it faces a severe Russian offensive in eastern regions. The offensive is seeking to exploit Kyiv’s shortages of ammunition and troops along the roughly 1,000-kilometer (620-mile) front line. The US will send about $225 million in military aid to Ukraine, said US officials.
