A new strain of the coronavirus, officially named KP.2 but popularly referred to as the “Flirt” variant, has emerged as the predominant form of the virus circulating in the U.S., based on current data. This particular variant has raised concerns among experts because of its heightened ability to spread and the possibility that it may be less susceptible to the protection provided by current vaccines.
