Harry and Meghan’s Nigeria trip rattled King Charles as he saw it “as an attempt to undermine the monarchy in the Commonwealth”. The royal family was concerned that the couple had gone rogue. “For Charles and William, it’s as if Meghan and Harry are saying, ‘We don’t need your permission to be working royals — we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like,’” Royal expert Tom Quinn earlier said.
