Shanghai Museum hosted its first ancient Egypt cat night, attended by numerous cat lovers and their pets. This innovative event reflects China’s growing pet ownership, with over 120 million pets in 2023, and cats being the most popular. The museum has planned nine more cat nights, tapping into younger generations’ affinity for cats as cheaper substitutes for children.
