Tropical storm Debby’s fury: Tornadoes and floods impact homes, schools, and lives

Tornadoes generated by Tropical Storm Debby caused destruction in North and South Carolina, damaging homes and infrastructure, including Springfield Middle School. One fatality was reported in Lucama, North Carolina. The storm led to significant flooding in both Carolinas and southeastern Georgia. With Debby downgraded to a tropical depression, further rains and flooding were anticipated in the region.
