A bipartisan group of US senators has urged Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to formulate a plan to meet Nato’s defense spending commitment of 2% of GDP. Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Republican Senator Thom Tillis, and 21 other senators signed a letter to Trudeau, emphasizing the importance of reaching the target agreed upon in 2006 and reaffirmed in 2023.
