The United States is preparing to announce a new security assistance package for Ukraine worth over $2.3 billion. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin revealed this during a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart at the Pentagon. The package is in response to persistent calls from Ukrainian officials for more air defense systems due to frequent missile and drone attacks by Russian forces. The new package is expected to include anti-tank weapons, air defense interceptors, and expedited procurement of NASAMS and Patriot air defense interceptors.
